INTERNET IS NOT LIKE THEY SAY!
Have you noticed? Even now, the image of people who use the internet
is still either looked upon as "anoracks r us" or "perverts r us".
All these people who make TV shows, and write the newspapers, all seem
to be under the impression that the average internet user is a 19 year
old spotty geek with no friends who sits in his room 24 hours a day
looking up porno pictures.
When really the internet is one of the most exciting and useful inventions
of this century. The majority of people who think the net is for "saddos"
haven't even used it, which is the most hypocritical part of it all.
Plus the majority of people who say this, work for companies that have an
active web page up and running in their very building.
The internet is also very easy to use. I travel two miles to university
or around the corner to my friends house who is on the net, and make the
web site for RIPMAG with my A1200 at home, take it to a net machine on
a disk, along with a DMS image of the latest issue, and then upload it all
onto a computer in America, for people all over the world to use 24
hours a day. It's useful, I could be lying in bed at 2AM, while some one
in Australia is downloading a magazine I've made here in England, from
my web site in the USA, the world becomes smaller in terms. Information
can be transferred right around the world, thousands of miles away in
seconds, it is one of the most useful inventions, and can only get better
as it gets more in use and wide spread.
